National Oceanographic Atmospheric Administration – (Pacific RISA):
· Designed and developed a collaborative based website for NOAA in support of the East West Center for the
Pacific Regional Integrated Science and Assessment (Pacific RISA) project based at the University of Hawaii.
· Website was built in the Joomla CMS, where custom style sheets were developed, 3rd party plugins were

Medical Information Assurance:
· Researched and wrote a SOA-ESB Study for Military Health Systems titled: “An Analysis of Service Oriented
Architecture Integrations for the Unified Theater Server Platform”.
· Developed a Cross Domain Solution (CDS) application to interface with ISSE Star Guard for the Joint Medical
Enterprise WorkStation systems to provide near real time medical data replication between unclassified and
classified networks in Java/XML.
· Developed XSLTs to do data translations for JMEWS program to translate medical data into cross domain friendly
formats. The project included developing the ISSE client software and the data translation and cleansing routines
for the AHLTA, HL7, SAMS8, and TRAC2ES formats.
· Developed a XML Schema inference engine in Java. Developed HL7 to XML and XML to HL7 converter in Java.
· Designed and Developed a web service testing harness to evaluate the various guards available within the crossdomain
community using Eclipse, Java, Axis2, on a windows server platform running Apache and Tomcat.
Cross Domain Solutions:
• Designed, developed, and integrated a highly scalable test harness to evaluate the web service capabilities of
various Cross Doman Solutions, including ISSE STAR Guard, Raytheon High Speed Guard (HSG), Datasync Guard
(DSG), and the Radiant Mercury Guard. In these guard solutions, XML firewalls were integrated including IBM
Datapower and Layer 7 Secure Span Guard (SSG) hardware. This test harness was written in Java and utilized
the SoapUI api to assist in test management and metrics.
• Participated on the XCDS Proposal team for development on the next generation cross domain guard.
• Evaluated Joint Medical EWS integration with the ISSE Guard and the handling of RTF documents embedded in
XML from unclassified to classified networks. Proposed solutions to the integration.

email and file transfer.

The BMS consists of five subsystems, written in C++, running on Windows 2000, Red Hat Linux and on Embedded
Modem Hardware Card, and connected to SQL Server and Oracle Databases. This management system interfaces with a
base station modem card running embedded firmware developed using WindRiver’s VxWorks.
Base Station Management Client:
Client application for wireless device, written in C++ running on Windows CE, was responsible for programming,
configuring, and monitoring the Base Station Hardware while authorizing subscribers and logging system statistics, using
JavaScript and DHTML for the web user interface. The data interchange between client and server was exchanged using
XML and translated using XSL between various customer client applications, and distributed using SOAP as the protocol.
1996-2000: Lucent Technologies, Senior Software Engineer
Lead engineer for product concept and strategy development at Excel Switching Corporation in early 1996 when the
company was just a startup with a hundred employees. Company went public in 1998, which traded on the NASDAQ
under the symbol of XLSW. By mid 1999 Lucent Technologies offered to buy Excel Switching for $1.7 billion in stock. The
deal was finalized in February of 2000.
